We believe that our children’s service is second to none and sets us apart from the crowd. We understand that in order to truly enjoy your holiday you need to be safe in the knowledge that your children are having fun and learning in the safest, most secure setting possible – this is why all children are looked after in-house by our own qualified British or English-speaking ski instructors.
Not only does this mean small groups, ensuring your child receives more individual instruction and attention, but it also allows the flexibility to meet with parents for lunch, a drink, or a few runs together in the afternoon.
And, of course, there is none of the hassle of booking ski school and having to adhere to set lesson times!

Younger skiers
From about the age of 3 or 4 most children are physically ready to give skiing a try. The most important thing at this stage is to make sure their experience is fun and that it leaves them wanting to do it again. Younger children tend to tire more easily and have a limited concentration span, so we make sure that learning centres around play and having fun, whilst allowing ample time for breaks.
Typically, children in the 3-5 year age group spend 1-3 hours in the morning on the snow with our instructors. They either meet their parents for lunch (if so desired) or can be taken back to the chalet for lunch with our nannies.
The afternoon provides the opportunity for all sorts of activities – having fun in our well equipped playroom, sledging on the slope beside the chalet, building snowmen or venturing a little further afield to the village playground or to the lake where the ducks are waiting to be fed…
For the little ones
Babies and younger children will be looked after by experienced nannies at the chalet. La Chaumiere has a colourful, well equipped playroom with soft toys, books, paints, crayons and other arts and crafts necessities. There is plenty of space to hang pictures and other creations at the end of the day.
We also have a large garden which provides ample opportunity for building snowmen and being pulled around on a sledge. A variety of activities will be arranged depending on the weather, for example local trips to feed the ducks and rabbits, or perhaps a trip up the cable car to watch mummy and daddy ski….
Mealtimes
We take as much care with the children’s food as we do with the adults. All food is homemade using the best fresh ingredients. We aim to take the stress out of mealtimes and provide food that is tasty, nutritious and universally popular.
Children’s supper is served at 6pm and requires parental supervision.
